Christopher Riley has directed and produced on over 80 programmes for the BBC and has worked with some of the best known faces on UK television - including Kate Humble, Sophie Raworth, Jamie Theakston, Johnny Vaughn, Adam Hart-Davis, Peter Snow, Philippa Forrester, Maggie Philbin, Michael Buerk, John Humphrys, Craig Doyle, Trevor Baylis, Katy Hill, David Suchet and Douglas Adams.
At the BBC he produced and directed over 50 films for the corporation's flagship science and technology show Tomorrow's World before moving on to direct on the first series of the BBC1 prime time shows Best Inventions and The Secret Lives of.... strand, and BBC2's 2002 Science at Christmas series Can't Get Enough. In 2003 he joined Impossible Pictures to produce the BBC 1 blockbuster drama-documentary series Space Odyssey, winner of the UK’s prestigious Sir Arthur Clarke Award. The following year he returned to the BBC to produce & direct on the 6th series of Rough Science for BBC2 and the Open University.
He was the co-producer and assistant director of the feature documentary cinema film "In the Shadow of the Moon" which won the 2007 Sundance World Cinema Audience award and was shortlisted for two Grierson awards. In 2008 he acted as executive producer and director of the six part Discovery Science series Moon Machines, and produced and directed the innovative teen drama Jeffery's Story for Bebo. He is the producer of the restored and remastered original Apollo documentary Moonwalk One.
